Introduction

Carroll's works, and the Alice books in particular have been a source of inspiration for artists for over 100 years. Hundreds of artists have produced work to be used for illustrations in published editions of the books and even more artists have produced work which stands alone. Here, we concentrate on the latter.

Victor Huerta

A fascinating approach to Alice illustration by a Cuban artist - Tenniel is clearly the starting point but rarely do you see anything pushing the boundaries quite like this. Currently exhibiting at the Caracola Gallery in Los Angeles.

Sir Peter Blake
